Zerovnik Janez

Janez  ŽEROVNIK a professor mathematics at University of Ljubljana since 2008, and a part time researcher at the Institute of mathematics, physics and mechanics, Ljubljana, Slovenia. His previous positions include University of  Maribor from 1992 until 2008, as a professor of discrete and computational mathematics and a professor of computer science, Jožef Stefan institute, 1981-1986, and IMFM, 1986-1992, as research assistant and PhD candidate. He served as a delegate and site  manager in two COST projects and networks of excellence (GRAAL, COST Action TIST 293, DYNAMO, COST action TIST 295, PASCAL, Pattern Analysis, Statistical modelling and Computational Learning, Network of Excellence under 6th Framework and continuation, PASCAL 2).  He was research fellow at Montanuniversitaet Leoben, École Normale Supérieure Lyon, and Royal Holloway, University of London. He has published more than 100  papers in refereed journals and  more than 100  papers in proceedings of scientific conferences. He is member of editorial boards of Ars Mathematica Contemporanea, ISRN Discrete Mathematics, and Central European Journal of Operations Research, and served as guest editor of special issues of Central European Journal of Operations Research (twice), Discussiones Mathematicae. Graph Theory, Theoretical Computer Science, and several conference proceedings including Structural information and communication complexity : revised selected papers, (Lecture notes in computer science, 5869). His main research interest is graph theory and discrete mathematics, with applications including theoretical computer science, and applied mathematics in general.
