Baohua Mao is Professor of Transport Engineering and Planning, Department of Urban Rail Transit, Beijing Jiaotong University and Head of the Department, Director of the Integrated Transport Research Center, Beijing Jiaotong University, Executive Council Member of the System Engineering Society of China, Council Member of the Chinese Society For Urban Studies, Editor-in-chief of the Journal of Transportation Systems Engineering and Information Technology.

Baohua Mao was born in 1963 in Hunan Province of China. He received his Bachelor degree from Central South University of China in 1983, Master degree in 1986 and also doctoral degree in engineering science in 1993 from Beijing Jiaotong Universitywith a work on the coordination planning modeling of transport system. He investigated many important research projects in urban transport, railway engineering and integrated transport planning. He won the Second Place of National Natural Sciences of China in 2011. His research areas are transport policies, operational optimization, transport simulation, and transport organizations.

Professor Tariq Muneer, Professor of Energy Engineering at Napier University, Edinburgh currently chairs an active group engaged in research on ‘Sustainable Energy and Transport’.  Professor Muneer is an international authority on the subject of solar energy and its applications including the transportation sector. At Edinburgh Napier University / Transport Research Institute Professor Muneer initiated a research program on electric-vehicles and their sustainable charging. Professor Muneer is the Chairman of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers’ Solar Data Task Group and in this capacity he has been involved in the production of the CIBSE Guides A & J for Weather and Solar Data. Professor Muneer has also been employed both by the government and industry as a consultant on a large number of engineering projects. Professor Muneer has been awarded several prestigious awards including the Royal Academy of Engineering Industrial Fellowship (2000-02), the Royal Academy of Engineering Engineers Secondment Overseas (1995), the Leverhulme Trust (1989) and the University College, Oxford/General Electric Company (1989) Research Fellowships.  He is also the recipient of the Osmania University’s Karamat Jung Gold Medal (1974), CIBSE Carter Bronze Medal (1990), CIBSE Napier Shaw Bronze Medal (1999), Millennium Commission’s Fellowship Award (1999), Walsh-Weston (Society of Light & Lighting, London) Award (2002), Services to Industry Group’s Proof of Concept award (2003) and the Scottish Green Energy, Highly Recommended Best Renewable Award (2006), Carnegie Trust research grant related to electric vehicles (2014)..

Herwig Unger is a full professor at the FernUniversität in Hagen (Germany) and the head of the Chair of Communication Networks in the Faculty for Mathematics and Computer Science.

Herwig Unger was born in 1966 in Halle/S. in the former GDR. He took a diploma in automation from the Technical University in Ilmenau in 1991 and received his doctoral degree  (Dr.-Ing.) in engineering science in 1994 with a work about the implementation of Petri Net models on multiprocessor computers from the same university. In 2000 he finished his habilitation (Dr.-Ing. habil.) with a work on large distributed and decentralized systems at the University of Rostock and got an extraordinary professorship there in 2004. In 2006 he followed a call and changed on his current position at the FernUniversität in Hagen.  Several projects, research stays and guest professorships e.g. in the USA, Canada and Thailand allowed him to extend his horizons.

His current research interests are in self-organization, adaptive and learning systems, Internet algorithms and simulation. Herwig Unger is a Fellow of the Society for Design and Process Science (SDPS) and a member of the German Society of Informatics.
